I joined Ofcom in June 2008 from Time Warner, for whom I worked on regulatory issues across the EU, Russia, Africa and the Middle East.  After 6 years travelling on the world’s most frightening airlines, it felt like a good time to move.  Prior to that I worked at the BBC, looking after economic regulatory and anti-trust issues, and before that I was an academic and economic consultant.  My role at Ofcom is Director of Policy Development, which involves both leading projects, such as our current work on postal regulation and on piracy, and playing a drop-in role on other projects in an attempt to ensure that related projects adopt a consistent approach in key policy areas.  Outside of work, my main passion is football – I am a Glasgow Rangers supporter – and I can be found regularly plying my trade as a ‘keeper on 5-a-side pitches in south London.  I have been married to Aynsley for 11 years and we have a 6 year old daughter, Iona, who, like me, plays football and supports Glasgow Rangers.
